Steps (age 9-19)

Every Thursday night at Kendal Day Centre, Dowkers Lane from 6.15-8.15pm, Steps offers children with a variety of needs, a safe environment, which is non-threatening and secure, enabling them to develop their social skills. Term time only.

Riversiders (18+)

A flourishing leisure club with increasing membership (presently over 70) who meet each Tuesday from 4.00pm to 8.00pm at Kendal Day Centre. Members participate in a variety of different activities and they have free choice of what they want to do. The members are encouraged to develop their life skills by taking responsibility for the running of the facilities as much as possible.

Young Riversiders

Members meet about once a month to do various activities. There is no fixed day for the activities as we often enjoy trips out.

Sporting Clubs (15+)

Monday’s we have a multi-sports group which meets at Kendal Lads and Lasses club, 3:30-5:30pm.

Wednesday evenings we have touch rugby (all ages welcome), 4:30-5:15pm followed by football (ages 15+), 5:15-6:00pm at Kirkbie Kendal school on the field.

Golden Moments

Meeting monthly the Golden moments have been enjoying monthly trips out with a variety of activities such as getting the bus to Burneside to watch a pantomime, a hair and beauty day in Kendal, a boat trip and afternoon tea, all proving to be popular trips.

Over 50’s Club


For those people wishing to attend a club but living outside of the Kenda,l area it may be possible to subsidise some of the cost of transport to the club; for example by funding some of the taxi fare. Please speak to us if you live in the rural outskirts of Kendal district and would find it difficult to cover the expenses of travel each week.
